About This Project

Steven joined Marks Barfield Architects small team in 1997 and worked on the design and delivery of the London Eye and its associated structures for the following 3 years. His role as an architectural assistant covered input into the design development of the wheel and its various supporting structures, the boarding platform, pier and pier canopy and the landscape kiosks. Steven also provided valuable input into the visualisation process of the design of the Eye as it developed from a concept to a fully realized, detailed proposal.

When it opened to the public in March 2000, the British Airways London Eye was, at 135m, the tallest observation wheel in the world.
